The first time I went to London, was 4 years ago to visit my best friend, Nancy, who had moved there after our last year of uni so she could attend Law School at SOAS. I immediately fell in love with London. I loved the architecture, the idioms that came out of Nancy’s classmates’ mouths, their accompanying accents, the city’s energy, the double decker buses, Walker Crisps (Sweet Thai Chili) and of course, the fashion. It was reminiscent of Tokyo - with the mix of vintage/drapey/intentionally mismatched combinations. The first time I went to Oxford Street, was the first time I entered Top Shop. I was overwhelmed, frenzied, and blissed out from 3 levels of clothes/shoes/accessories. I think I spent 200 pounds that I didn’t have in a matter of minutes. But, I do still rock these black booties I bought back then. Anyway, Top Shop has expanded and now has a flagship in New York City - one degree closer to Canada. I like to peruse online, even though they don’t ship here!! But atleast now I can take an 8 hour drive or 1 hour plane ride if the need arises. These blazers are the bomb. I want them all.
